Precision sensors for demanding applications
A linear transducer is essentially an absolute encoder with a coiled measuring wire. Thanks to the coil construction, the length of the wire is the same for each turn and the measurement accuracy achieved can be as low as 2 µm (the diameter of the thread of the spider web). Posital linear encoders are available with a measuring range of 1.. 15 m.
The output of the linear encoder can be an analogue signal or a data output (supporting the most common protocols, e.g. ModBus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, EtherCat, Profinet etc.).
