MR-5: error prediction function

MR-J5 detects changes due to machine ageing by analysing the friction and vibrations monitored by the machine's diagnostic function, and signals the need for maintenance with a warning message. The MR-J4-GF also records the total travel distance of the servo motor, and provides warnings if the total travel distance exceeds your specified warning limit. If the limit is set to the rated life of the ball screw or bearing, preventive maintenance can be performed according to the actual need of the machine.

The MELSERVO MR-J5 is easily controllable with FX5U or iQ-R controllers via the CC-Link IE TSN network. The FX5-40SSC-G and FX5-80SSC-G Simple Motion modules provide fast and stable control. iQ-R controllers can control up to 768 axes over the network, offering excellent scalability and accuracy.

MELSERVO MR-J5 servo motors have an encoder resolution of 67 108 864 pulses per revolution, which ensures extremely high accuracy. Thanks to the V-belt sensor technology, the encoders are battery-free, reducing maintenance requirements and increasing system reliability.

MR-J5 Servo: One-touch tuning in just 0.3 seconds

With the One-touch Tuning feature enabled, servo gain tuning is automatically performed, incorporating a machine resonance damping filter, advanced vibration damping control and an upgraded filter for maximum machine performance. This feature automatically sets the feedback of the encoder, while the automatic tuning of the real time requires manual adjustment. In addition, the new control methodology allows the auto-tune procedure to be optimised to the specific load requirements.

Linear solution for machine configurations

The flexibility of linear servo motors is suitable for short- and long-distance movements, offering smoother operation than ball screw systems, lower maintenance requirements and higher productivity. Tandem and multihead configurations are available.
